The cottage is within a minute’s walking distance of the centre of Wallingford but
is in a quiet cul-de-sac off the main through roads. It is one of a terrace of houses
in a short road leading to an open park (‘The Kinecroft’).
There is street parking outside the cottage.
In the opposite direction from the park, a pedestrian lane leads to the town centre,
shops, theatre churches and bus stops (see About Wallingford)
A map, with full directions, will be sent with confirmation of bookings.
Please note that smoking is not allowed in the cottage.
On arrival you will be greeted, in person, by the Owner or Manager of the cottage,
who live in neighbouring cottages. A ‘welcome pack’ will waiting for you so that
you can have a cup of tea or coffee as you settle in. Information in the cottage
will tell you where to find the supermarket (Waitrose) which is less than a minute
away, and places to eat and drink in the town.
There is a stocked wine rack in the cottage but guests are asked either to provide
replacements of a similar value or pay for the bottles consumed (at least £5)
You can pre-order a ‘Continental-style’ Breakfast - tea/coffee, croissants, rolls,
juice, etc. - for your first morning. Ingredients for an ’English-style’ breakfast
- bacon, eggs, etc - can also be provided. Ask about options and charges at the time
of booking. This is, however, a self-catering cottage and cooked meals are not provided.
Guests who are in the cottage for more than a week might wish to have the cottage
cleaned, beds changed, etc. There will be a small charge for mid-stay housekeeping.
Business men/women using the cottage whilst working in the area might wish to have
a basic daily housekeeping service: bathroom and kitchen tidied, beds made. Ask about
arrangements and charges, when booking.
The owner can offer pet-minding and dog-walking (with her own terrier) subject to
availability and dates. Ask for details and rates.
If there are any other services that could make your stay more enjoyable.
We regret that the cottage is not suitable for wheelchair users (stairs and narrow
doorways) and is not ideal for those who have difficulty with stairs. The bedrooms
are upstairs and there is a step down to the bathroom which is on the ground floor.
