Wallingford is situated in South Oxfordshire and is almost equidistant from the City
of Oxford (12.5 miles to the North) and the City of Reading (13.5 miles to the South).
Buses run every half hour to these two cities and there are bus and rail links to
London and to Heathrow Airport from Oxford and from Reading. The nearest railway
stations are at Cholsey and at Didcot.
Wallingford Town offers a wide range of facilities for sport and leisure activities.
The town is well served with restaurants and pubs and also has its own theatre, the
Corn Exchange, for films and live entertainment.
The shopping centre has a small department store and shops to meet most requirements
including fashion, shoes, antiques, painting, needlework, hardware and books. There
is even an ‘Olde Worlde’ sweet shop.
You do not need to take the car out to discover the pleasures of walking by the River
Thames or to neighbouring villages. Information in the cottage will suggest short
and longer walks.
